The Foundation “APELL National Center for Disaster Management” was founded in 2007, from the initiative of Professor PhD. Eng. Ozunu Alexandru, being a legal entity of private rights, independent, non-governmental and non-profit, without any political orientation.

Through the activities organized, the foundation aims to:

– educate, prepare and perfectionate the experts in the domain of evaluation and management of natural and technological risk;

– prevent the production of technological accidents and natural disasters;

– promote fundamental, technical and scientific, experimental and applicative research in the domain of environmental protection;

– coordinate programs necessary for the implementation of policies in the domain of risk and environmental security, integrated into an international network.
